(KRON) — One person was shot near the intersection of Van Ness Avenue and California Street, not far from the bustling Halloween crowds on San Francisco's Polk Street Friday night.
The San Francisco Police Department responded to the shooting around 11:50 p.m. and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“During a preliminary investigation, officers learned that the victim was walking by a group of unknown subjects that were possibly having a verbal altercation when he heard a loud noise,” SFPD said. “After the victim realized he had been shot, the group of subjects fled from the scene.”
