Not everyone can be good at everything, and Miranda Lambert has accepted her fate regarding one of her favorite hobbies.
Lambert, 41, made an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience on Wednesday, October 29, and revealed that in her downtime she likes to flex her creative muscles in a different way than singing.

“Even if you’re not great at the thing or a thing or if you try a bunch of stuff and you kind of suck at all of it but you are working on it or whatever, there’s fulfillment in that. There’s an accomplishment,” Lambert told Joe Rogan during the episode. “Like I paint folk chickens and I’m terrible at it. Little folk art chickens. I don’t even know why. I have no idea why. And they’re not good at all.”
While art is universally subjective and there’s no “right” way to paint, folk art typically involves whimsical designs and bright colors. Lambert, who paints her creation on small canvases, said she enjoys the hobby because it’s “cute and fun.” Just don’t expect to see any of her artwork popping up on an auction block.
“I’m not going to show anybody. I painted one for my mom ‘cause she has to hang it up. She put it in her kitchen,” Lambert explained. “I’m terrible at it and I don’t know anything about it, but I would like to learn. I look up YouTube classes or whatever. They’re so cute.”
The “Something Bad” singer also joked that her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, pokes fun at her hobby.
“He’s like, ‘Are you talking about your stupid folk art chickens?’” she continued. “‘Cause I’ll just be in there, he’s cooking and I’m just like, ‘I’m painting my chickens right now.’”
While her chicken paintings earned plenty of laughs, not everyone was thrilled about Lambert’s appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. Some fans took issue with her decision to join the podcast, citing Rogan’s history of controversial political remarks.
When she uploaded a clip of the episode on her Instagram, a few of her fans said they were “disappointed” in her decision to be a guest.

“Wow, this is really disappointing. Especially with your support of the drag and lgbtq communities,” wrote one Instagram user. “This is pretty unexpected.”
Not everyone was upset, however, and some applauded her appearance.
