Bonaduce said, however, that he didn't approve of one of Cassidy's behaviors. According to Bonaduce, "sometimes he'd chastise his audience."
"I never agreed with [that]. It was a mistake there. The customer is always right and they're the customer," said Bonaduce in the September 2025 interview.
Bonaduce then said that Cassidy would reprimand audience members if they "would laugh in the middle of a song or something."
"David would get very upset. David took himself very seriously," said Bonaduce with a smile in the That's Classic interview.
In a November 2017 interview on KING 5 Seattle, Bonaduce mentioned that Cassidy had a strong work ethic throughout his decades-long career. He explained that at the height of Cassidy's popularity, thousands of fans would come to see him perform. He said, however, that he once did a gig with Cassidy where there were only 43 audience members. Bonaduce clarified that Cassidy gave it his all no matter how many people he was performing for.
"Whether there was a thousand people, which it often was, or 43 people, they all got the best David Cassidy can be," said Bonaduce in the November 2017 interview.

Bonaduce and Cassidy co-starred together on The Partridge Family for the show's entire four seasons, which ran from 1970 to 1974, per IMDb.
In the 2017 KING 5 Seattle interview, Bonaduce explained that he always viewed Cassidy as an older brother. However, they weren't particularly close while filming the beloved '70s family sitcom because Cassidy and Bonaduce had a 10-year age difference.
"He was 20, I was 10. We were not really close. I thought of him as my brother because he was David Cassidy. He was the coolest thing that ever happened," explained Bonaduce.
He also said he and Cassidy reconnected in adulthood. Bonaduce explained that Cassidy reached out to him after he had some legal troubles.
"David wanted nothing but the best for me and I gave him a run. I made things difficult for him to be kind to me. I got in a lot of trouble, a lot of embarrassing things, and arrests all over the tabloids. And David called me up one day and, he's always said this, he said, 'You're the funniest guy in the world, but now you're the joke. Don't be the joke,'" said Bonaduce.
Bonaduce then shared that Cassidy offered him a job to go on tour with him, as long as he was sober. Bonaduce, who has been sober for over a decade, said he was grateful for the opportunity.
In addition, Bonaduce said that Cassidy's brother, Shaun Cassidy, reached out to him after his death.
"He said 'I just want you to know, Danny, that David thought of you as his other brother,'" recalled Bonaduce during the 2017 interview.
Bonaduce said he wasn't surprised that Cassidy viewed him like a brother because he "went out of his way to tell me he loved me."
"I'm really sorry that guy's gone," continued the 66-year-old.
