On October 26, KISS guitarist and vocalist Paul Stanley shared the news via the social media site X, formerly Twitter. Francis' death comes just 10 days after KISS lead guitarist Ace Frehley died.

Stanley added, "He was loved by Erin and all my children and his kindness was given to everyone he came in contact with." Erin would be Stanley's wife, Erin Sutton. The two have been married since 2005, and they share three children.
According to Alternative Nation, Francis began working with KISS in the 1980s. He began as a member of the band's touring crew, and later worked as the head of the band's security team. He was by the band's side for tours and fan engagements for years, always keeping things under control. In May 2022, Classic Rock did a profile on Francis, whose full name was Michael "Danny" Francis. Over the course of his career, he worked with icons such as Elvis Presley, Jon Bon Jovi, Cher, Paul McCartney, and Led Zeppelin.
The media outlet noted that years ago, Francis published a book titled Star Man: The Right Hand Man of Rock 'N' Roll. He said that despite his fame, McCartney was "always a fantastic bloke." Working with Led Zeppelin was chaotic, but "It was an amazing time."
Francis wrote that he was only around Presley for a couple of days, and it was when "you could see the end coming." He wrote, "We all thought we'd probably meet him again and again, but it was never gonna happen."
He also shared, "Working with Cher was the best job I've ever had. She's just a special person. And still is, in and out of music."
As for working with KISS, Francis noted that Stanley and Gene Simmons were "total professionals." He said that Frehley and Peter Criss were "the total opposite of Gene and Paul."
