GATES, N.Y. — A man is faced charges after police say he broke into Papa Joe’s Restaurant and tried to break into Savastano’s Bakery on the same day.
Gates Police say 62-year-old Richard Grahm, released on parole earlier this year, broke into Papa Joe’s Restaurant and stole money and a cash bag on October 19. That same day, police say he tried to break into Savastano’s Bakery on Spencerport Road.
Officers identified Grahm as the sole suspect after watching security camera footage, getting a description of the suspect, and finding a getaway bike.
Gates Police later found Grahm in Rochester, arrested him, and took him back to the Gates Police Department on October 24. Officers learned of Grahm’s long rap sheet while processing him. His criminal history includes 10 felony convictions, two of which were labeled violent.
Grahm faces the following charges related to the burglaries:
Papa Joe’s Restaurant Third-degree burglary Fourth-degree grand larceny Third-degree criminal mischief Savastano’s Bakery Third-degree attempted burglary Third-degree criminal mischiefHe could face additional charges.
