Cole Cubelic reveals SEC takeaways from Week 9

Week 9 in the SEC featured some action-packed matchups and big-time blowouts from all of the conference’s top programs, and SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic released his biggest takeaways for all the teams that were in action this past Saturday.

Cubelic started by saying that Alabama pulled out a “gritty” win on the road against South Carolina, and praised the Tide’s offense and defense for their resiliency down the stretch.

He also noted that Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss all had impressive wins in their respective matchups, with the Aggies in particular being commended for their dominant victory against the LSU Tigers in Death Valley.

As far as LSU is concerned, Cubelic characterized their 49-25 loss against Texas A&M as a “thumping” at home that led to the firing of former head coach Brian Kelly, despite some positive moments on defense early on.

Cubelic also went on to say that Arkansas got “out-physicaled” in their loss to Auburn, characterized Kentucky‘s loss as “brutal,” and that Oklahoma “had chances” but ultimately couldn’t get the job done.

He did have some high praise for Mississippi State in the wake of their loss to the Longhorns, saying that the team “played hard” and that they are very close to putting it all together under head coach Jeff Lebby.

Lastly, Cubelic said that South Carolina had their opportunity to win, but the mistakes they made were just too much to overcome, while Mizzou‘s loss against Vanderbilt was characterized as a “tough one to drop.”
