BART riders face delays, service impacts Monday

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- BART delays and limited service advisories cropped up Monday morning as the transit agency said there is an equipment problem with the track in the Transbay Tube. Red and Green line services are impacted, and the San Francisco line is experiencing a 20-minute delay in all directions as of 5:30 a.m., according to the Bay Area Rapid Transit District.

The equipment problem has halted Red Line service for all day Monday. In an advisory, BART said, “For Millbrae take the shuttle train between SFO and Millbrae and transfer to/from the Yellow line (Antioch-SFO). Millbrae riders from Richmond take the Orange/Berryessa train and transfer at MacArthur to the Yellow/SFO train.”

Another service alert announced that Green Line service was down between Berryessa and Daly City. In its advisory, BART said, “Passengers traveling from the San Francisco line can board a Dublin/Pleasanton train and transfer at Bayfair to a Berryessa train. Those traveling from the Berryessa line can board a Richmond train and transfer at Bayfair to a Daly City train.”

There is no estimated time for service to be restored.

One week ago, on Oct. 20, morning commuters on BART faced major delays systemwide as trains were single-tracking through the Transbay Tube due to an obstruction. Lines on that day were reestablished by 11 a.m.
