Actor Patrick Muldoon is addressing speculation that he may still have lingering feelings for his famous ex-girlfriend, Denise Richards.
Us Weekly reported that Muldoon appeared on the October 22 episode of Tori Spelling's podcast, misSPELLING, wherein he briefly discussed his past relationship with Richards. He referenced that he appeared in Season 1, Episode 6 of Richards' 2025 Bravo reality series, Denise Richards & Her Wild Things. During the episode, Richards and Muldoon filmed a romantic music video for his song, "Gray Again."
In addition, Richards' daughter, Sami Sheen, 21, fathered by her ex-husband,Charlie Sheen, shared that she believed Muldoon "might still have feelings for [her] mom" in Season 1, Episode 6.
While recording the misSPELLING episode, Muldoon denied that he views Richards in a romantic light. He explained that he's been in a relationship with his girlfriend since 2023.
"We dated on and off in the ’90s, but since then, it’s been just friendship Sami, we are friends," said the Days of Our Lives star in the podcast episode.
He also shared how he and Richards started their romance, which eventually became a close friendship.
"The thing about Denise and I is everybody thinks we met on Starship Troopers, but we met in acting class when she was 19 and I was 21," said Muldoon. "We both don’t come from entertainment families, and our families got to know each other over the years and kind of checked in with each other on navigating the crazy stuff that we all go through.”
In addition, Muldoon said that he has "a good relationship with" Sami and her sister, Lola Sheen, 20.
"I’ve known them since they were first born," said the actor.
He also referenced that Richards is currently going through a divorce with her second husband, Aaron Phypers, whom she wed in 2018.
"Denise and I are very tight buddies, and she’s going through a rough spot right now with everything. I wish her the best for sure, and we’re friends," stated Muldoon on the podcast episode.
