Police in northwest suburban Palatine were investigating after two people were found dead inside an apartment, authorities said.
At approximately 9:26 p.m. on Friday, officers with the Palatine Police Department were called to the 1000 block of North Sterling Avenue near North Countryside Drive for an ambulance assist.
When officers arrived, they found an 84-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man dead inside an apartment, police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the individuals as Karen Zincke and David Zincke. The relation between the two wasn’t immediately clear.
Autopsies were scheduled to take place to determine the manner and cause of death.
Following the incident, authorities said there was no threat to public safety.
Police were continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident early Saturday.
