CORTLAND — Charles Dennis Brady II, 86, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, at Cortland Healthcare Center.
He was born Oct. 31, 1938, in Warren, to Charles and Mary Louise Brady. He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1956 and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961.
On Jan. 20, 1962, he married the love of his life, Margaret “Marge” Medzie, and they shared 63 wonderful years.
Chuck worked in maintenance at Packard Electric for 45 years, where he was known to “spread oil and good cheer.” Chuck was an avid do-it-yourselfer and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his children, Charles (Cheryl) Brady and Bethany Driggers; his grandchildren, Connor (Katin) Brady, Brady (Alisha) Driggers, Cullen Brady and Ayrn Driggers (fiance, Cody Rose); and his brother, Kenny (Carol) Brady.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Louise, and his sister, Margaret “Peggy” King.
A viewing will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lane Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at the All Souls Cemetery Chapel in Bazetta.
In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, or the American Cancer Society, cancer.org, in Chuck’s honor.
