With numerous power-conference head coaching jobs already open and more sure to come, this offseason’s coaching carousel could be one with plenty of movement.
While Nick Saban has repeatedly denied any interest in returning to the sidelines since his retirement after the 2023 season, that won’t stop schools from asking the question this offseason. When asked about a potential return on Friday’s College GameDay, Saban acknowledged that he may be hearing from his agent, Jimmy Sexton, at some point this cycle.
Saban also said the money that coaches are making in today’s college football landscape would get the attention of his wife, Miss Terry.
“I want to stay retired,” Saban said. “And I do not want [Sexton] anywhere near Miss Terry. Because when she hears some of these numbers, she gets interested. And I ain’t interested.”
McAfee took the question another step forward and pressed Saban on his interest (or lack thereof) in returning to coaching.
“No way,” Saban said. “I have so much fun working with you, why would I go do that?”
