ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Here’s your guide to events happening on Friday and this weekend in the Rochester area. You can learn more about what’s happening around town on our Community Calendar.

Trunk-or-treat at the YMCA (Friday)

    Lewis Street YMCA Neighborhood Center is holding a trunk-or-Treat event on Friday, giving kids the chance to dress up and collect candy all in one place.

    The 5th annual event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. It also includes family-friendly activities and a chance to connect with local resources. Learn more here.

    Museum of the Dead at the MAG (Friday)

    The Memorial Art Gallery is hosting its annual Halloween party on Friday. The event, known as the Museum of the Dead, is for adults 21 and older. It includes ghost tours, tarot readings, and a late-night organ concert.

    Attendees will also have access to the gallery’s art exhibits. There will also be a costume contest with categories such as “Best Couple” and “Spookiest Costume.”

    The event will feature a live DJ, a screening of “American Psycho,” and food from some of the city’s favorite food trucks. The party is scheduled to run from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets for the event are $30. To learn more and get tickets, click here.

    Fall in Canandaigua Festival (Saturday)

    Downtown Canandaigua will be full of fall festivities on Saturday. Fall into Canandaigua runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with pumpkin decorating, a magic show, a horse-drawn wagon ride, a monster mash dance-off, and more.

    There will also be a kids’ costume parade and contest, with the lineup starting at noon at Commons Park. Admission is free. To learn more and see the full schedule of events, click here.

    Pumpkins in the Park 5K (Saturday)

    Runners, some dressed in Halloween costumes, will once again take over Cobbs Hill Park on Saturday. Over 1,100 runners are expected to take part in the annual Pumpkins in the Park 5K.

    The race kicks off at 9 a.m. on Norris Drive. There’s also a kids’ half-mile run that kicks off at 10 a.m. in the Cobbs Hill fields, between the two huge inflatable cats.

    The 5K course goes through the Cobbs Hill Neighborhood and ends in the Cobbs Hill baseball fields with a Halloween-themed finish line, complete with pumpkins.     Beethoven Festival at Kodak Hall (Friday and Saturday, then next week)

    The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra’s first-ever Beethoven Festival continues on Friday and Saturday. It kicked off on Thursday and then resumes next week, on Thursday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Nov. 1.

    The festival features four performances of Beethoven’s masterpieces, including his most popular symphonies. It’s taking place at Kodak Hall in the Eastman Theatre. You can get tickets and see performance times here.

    “CLUE” at the West Herr Auditorium Theatre (through Sunday)

    The Rochester Broadway Theatre League’s new season kicked off this week with “CLUE”, a play based on the classic board game.

    The show will run at the West Herr Auditorium Theatre on East Main Street every day through Sunday, Oct. 26. You can get tickets online and see a list of show times here or go to the Auditorium Box Office.

    The play is based on the 1985 Paramount Pictures movie, where six mysterious guests assemble at Boddy Manor for a night they’ll never forget.
