DENVER (KDVR) — Traffic heading toward the mountains on Interstate 70 is backing up after a vehicle fire prompted a criminal investigation on Friday morning.
Around 2:20 a.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said there was a car fire on the interstate. COtrip reported that two lanes on westbound I-70 have been closed between Exit 256: Lookout Mountain and Exit 254: US 40; Genesee (Genesee) all morning.
The sheriff's office said it is now conducting a criminal investigation.

The interstate was shut down earlier Friday morning. Just before 8 a.m., the two lanes on the interstate are still closed. Google reported a 15-minute delay.
