Let’s jump into something that might be fairly significant but had nothing to do with the Blackhawks’ game in Tampa. I received a package from Fanatics yesterday. To be clear: I did not order anything. But it got my attention very, very quickly.
The box — which, again, I did not order — had a few items in it and a note saying it was to celebrate the start of a new season of NHL hockey. What got my attention most in the box?
A BLACK Blackhawks jersey.

— Tab Bamford (@The1Tab) October 23, 2025When I spoke with Blackhawks President of Business Operations Jamie Faulkner before training camp, she told me the Blackhawks were focused on the Centennial jerseys for home games this season.
As I tweeted, I am not announcing anything and the team has not formally announced anything. There is nothing on the jersey that notes this is the Blackhawks’ Centennial season; the home red has been modified for the anniversary season the the road whites have the 100 logo on it.
But I got a package in the mail from Fanatics — that, again, I did not order — that was very clearly, specifically put together intentionally that included this black jersey.
