ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The framework plan has been released for High Falls, Rochester’s first state park.
The framework plan was developed by various planners of the project, such as planning and urban design OLIN, Highland Planning, national landscape architecture, and more.
In the plan, it outlines how the park will be accessed through nine gateways that connect to surrounding streets and traits. The plan also calls for a new park trail system that will stretch over 2.5 miles within the gorge.
The proposed 40-acre park would be open year-round. It is part of the ROC the Riverway initiative aimed at revitalizing the Genesee River corridor in downtown Rochester.
Phased construction of the new park is set to begin in late 2026. To learn more, click here.
