A familiar face will help NBC welcome back the NBA during Tuesday’s opening night doubleheader.
Following a two-decade-long hiatus, the network will officially take over as the league’s primary partner and kick off a new season by broadcasting Rockets-Thunder and Warriors-Lakers. As if the return of the famous partnership wasn’t highly anticipated enough, NBC announced a handful of months back that legend Michael Jordan would join the team as a special contributor. Exactly what that would entail remained a mystery … until now!
During NBC’s airing of Sunday Night Football, Mike Tirico teased the NBA’s return to NBC and revealed that the first of his sit-down interviews with Jordan would play during the doubleheader. The network went on to provide more information in a press release on Monday morning. The GOAT’s discussion with Tirico is part of the MJ: Insights to Excellence series. Installments will apparently play throughout the season.
