Brighton native Ernie Clement and the Toronto Blue Jays are one win away from punching their ticket to the World Series.
With Sunday’s 6-2 win, the Blue Jays evened up the American League Championship Series against the Seattle Mariners, 3-3, forcing a win-or-go-home game seven scheduled for Monday.
Toronto’s postseason run has been spearheaded by Clement, who boasts a .447 batting average and 1.121 OPS in 10 playoff games. Clement added to his monster postseason with a double, a triple, and a walk in Sunday’s win, scoring two of Toronto’s six runs.
Earlier this month, Clement was also announced as a Gold Glove Award Finalist for the American League at both third base and at utility.
