The teams that owned the first two overall picks in the 2023 NHL Draft will meet at the United Center on Sunday evening. Connor Bedard vs. Leo Carlsson hasn’t developed as much juice as the Bedard-Celebrini debate, but it’s always fun when the top two overall selections in a draft class face each other.
This isn’t a game focused on two individual players, however. The Blackhawks and Ducks are similarly trying to turn their ships around and get back to competing at the highest level. They’re both bringing a bunch of young players into the league who are exciting. This should be a fun one.
Note: Tyler Bertuzzi was not at the Blackhawks’ morning skate, but head coach Jeff Blashill said he does anticipate Bertuzzi playing on Sunday night. The lines below are based on Saturday’s practice.
