ROCHESTER, N.Y. — 17 dogs were recovered from a home on Home Place in Rochester after a fire broke out.
The Rochester Fire Department says the fire happened at around 1:20 p.m. Thursday. They say the people inside made it out before fire crews got there, but several pets were still inside.
Crews immediately began putting water on the fire, while others did a full search of the home, where they were able to safely remove 17 dogs who were unharmed.
The fire was put out in about ten minutes. The Red Cross was called due to damage on the second floor of the home.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
