ANOTHER Brit holiday hotspot has been issued a red alert as Storm Alice continues to thrash the Mediterranean country with wild weather.
Shocking footage has emerged from Valencia, as the region becomes the latest victim of the major weather front.
Footage shows cars floating through the flash flooding caused by torrential rain turning roads into rivers of mud.
Others show the moments drivers are rescued from their submerged vehicles by emergency service workers.
Cars can be seen floating through the water as the strong currents crash around them, leaving locals and tourists alike trapped inside.
Spain’s national weather agency Aemet issued a red alert for Valencia on Monday, warning that 100 millimetres of rain could fall in just one hour.
This comes after the Catalan regional government declared a state of emergency in five districts, including hardest-hit Tarragona.
Civil protection officials from across the flood-swarmed country have urged people to stay inside, warning that the weather could get worse in the coming days.
A senior official at Catalonia’s Civil Protection agency Cristina Vicente spoke to La Vanguardia, saying: “The situation is complicated, and more rain is forecast”.
No casualties from the weather have been reported; however, 18 people have been injured, including one person sustaining serious injuries.
Almost the entire eastern side of Spain is on alert as Storm Alice rages on.
Severe rainfall alerts remain in place in Majorca, as locals and tourists prepare for an estimated 50 millimetres of rainfall.
“Be prepared,” a statement from the AEMET read.
“Take precautions and keep up to date with the latest weather forecast. Severe damages to people and properties may occur, especially to those vulnerable or in exposed areas.”
The storm has continued to cause significant destruction across Spain, as more than 3000 travellers were held up in blocked roads and trains overnight.
Dramatic footage from the Tarragona province shows cars piled up on top of each other after being swept away by floods in the nearby municipality of Godall, as thousands were forced to evacuate major roads.
The ground floor of many homes were flooded with residents and travellers urged to move to higher floors.
Overnight, Catalan sports centres were turned into shelters and aid points for motorists left stranded halfway through their journeys.

Part of the AP-7 motorway – which runs along Spain‘s Mediterranean coast – was closed in both directions with vehicles seen trapped in floodwater.
On Monday morning, a reported 1,100 people had spent the night in temporary shelters opened by local councils after the storm battered the Terres de l’Ebre region on the lower course of the Ebre River.
Firefighters in the central command centre in Tortosa said 31 people had been rescued before 1am.
Adding to the chaos, rail operator Renfe suspended all trains from Barcelona and Valencia to the Mediterranean Corridor until further notice after weather agency AEMET issued a red weather alert.
In total, 17 trains were cancelled affecting 3,000 passengers.
