The big events on the DP World Tour keep on coming as Ryder Cup heroes Jon Rahm and Shane Lowry headline the Open de Espana this week.
Robert MacIntyre clinched home town glory in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on Sunday, beating Tyrell Hatton by four strokes.
MacIntyre had to battle horrendous weather to claim another big career win for the Scot, and thankfully, kinder conditions are expected in Madrid.
Rahm and Lowry, who were instrumental in Europe’s win at Bethpage Black last month, were among the favourites for glory in Spain.
However, the latter has missed the cut and the Spaniard looks to be out of contention heading into Sunday at his home event.

Rahm has won the Open de Espana three timesGettyOpen de Espana 2025: What has been said?
Hidalgo held off Rahm to win his home open last year in dramatic fashion.
Rahm shot a Sunday 68 to force a play-off against Hidalgo who stuttered in the final round.
But, after both players birdied their opening play-off hole, Hidalgo made a three on the 18 for a second time to beat Rahm who could only manage a closing par.
“Insane, absolutely insane,” Hidalgo said.
“It was weird because I was pretty relaxed all day, I don’t know why. That’s amazing. That’s for everyone who believed in me.”
Rahm was the champion of this event in 2022, 2019 and 2018 and will now be looking for his fourth victory.
