Every Year After is told over six years and one weekend, and it follows the story of Percy and Sam as their friendship blossoms into first love in the lake town of Barry’s Bay. After a betrayal in the relationship, the pair move on and live separate lives until the funeral of Sam’s mom brings Percy back to the town she grew up in.

Every Year After cast

Sadie Soverall

Soverall stars as Percy, who falls in love with the boy next door, Sam, in Barry’s Bay. 

The actress is best known for her roles in Saltburn, Little Bone Lodge and Netflix’s Fate: The Winx Saga.

Matt Cornett

Cornett will portray Sam, whose relationship with Sam is put to the test. 

The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series alum revealed via an Instagram post in July 2025 that production on the series had already begun.

“Three updates,” he captioned a screenshot of the casting announcement. “One: Every Year After is coming to @primevideo. Two: Meet Percy, Sam, Charlie, Delilah, Chantal and Jordie. Three: Now in production at your local Barry’s Bay.”

Aurora Perrineau

Perrineau will play Percy’s friend, Chantal. 

Formerly a horseback rider, Perrineau recalled how her parents inspired her to make the move over to acting and her journey coming back to it while speaking with Office magazine in September 2024.

“My parents were actors, so I just thought that's what you did, and only later found out you didn't. I acted for a while when I was young, but quit and was an equestrian for 14 years," she said. “I thought that's what I would do with my life. Then, I started modeling, and got away from horseback riding, because I couldn't really do both."

Abigail Cowen

Cowen plays Delilah, another friend of Percy’s. 

“We are PUMPED. So excited to bring Delilah to life heheh,” she wrote via Instagram at the time of the casting announcement in summer 2025.

Bradway plays Charlie, Sam’s brother. 

“Couldn’t be more excited to be your Charlie,” the Chicago Fire alum wrote via Instagram.

Chiu, who previously appeared in Motorheads, will portray Jordie.
