AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department said in a social media post that its detectives are investigating a homicide Monday morning.
The murder happened near the 8200 block of Research Boulevard, on the northbound side.
APD said a public information officer is headed to the scene and will brief the media on the situation.
The scene is a few blocks south of where a mass shooting happened in August. There have been 44 other homicides in Austin so far this year.
