Oliver Hulse from Columbus, Ohio has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Denver beginning in fall 2026.
“I am excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Denver! I am extremely grateful that my path has led me here and I’m excited to keep doing what I love at the Division 1 level. I want to thank my family, coaches, teammates and friends for pushing me to succeed and making all the hard work and long hours worth it. I also want to thank the coaching staff at Denver swim and dive for giving me the opportunity to be a Pioneer. Go Pios!”Hulse swims for Upper Arlington Swim Club and finished his long course season at Summer Juniors in August. He was highlighted by a 23rd place finish in the 50 breast and swam a lifetime best 28.87 in the event during prelims. He also finaled in the 100 breast finishing 27th in a 1:03.87.
He began his senior year this fall at Upper Arlington High School. This past February, he swam to numerous best times at the 2025 Ohio State Division I Championships. He finished 4th in the 100 breast in a best time of a 55.65. He also was 20th in the 100 free in a lifetime best 47.54. He swam on the team’s 200 medley relay that finished 4th and the team’s 200 free relay that touched 5th.
Hulse’s Best SCY Times Are:
100 breast: 55.55 200 breast: 2:04.34The Denver men captured the 2025 Summit League Championship title with 975 points, finishing almost 300 points ahead of South Dakota as they scored 697.5 points. Senior Brandon Chapman led the way as he won conference titles in the 1100 fly (47.10) and 200 fly (1:45.69).
Based on his best times, Hulse is a huge pick up for the team as his 100 breast would already make the ‘A’ final. Denver only had one ‘A’ finalist in the 100 breast as senior Luca Foord finished 4th in a 54.71. Hulse also would have made the ‘B’ final of the 200 breast. Marco Nosack was the team’s 2nd fastest 100 breaststroker this past season with a 55.13 while he led the team in the 200 breast with a 1:56.95.
