Now that his father, King Charles, is on the throne, Prince William has never been closer to becoming king himself, and it sounds like he's already putting a lot of thought into the way he wants to do things when it's his turn to reign.
When the Prince of Wales appeared on this week's new episode of Eugene Levy's Apple TV+ series, The Reluctant Traveler, he got unusually personal about several different topics — including the changes he wants to make in the monarchy.

The British monarchy is known for being steeped in tradition, but according to what William told Levy as he gave him a tour of Windsor Castle, this future king has "change on my agenda."
"Change for good, and I embrace that, I enjoy that change," he said. "I don't fear it, that's the bit that excites me, the idea of being able to bring some change. Not overly radical, but changes that I think need to happen."
Later in the tour, he said that he didn't want to be "suffocated" by history.
"I think if you're not careful, history can be a real weight and an anchor around you, and you can feel suffocated by it, and restricted by it too much," he said. "And I think it's important to live for the here and now."
And in the spirit of not letting the way things have always been done hold him back in the future, William said he's willing to question traditions going forward.
"There are points when you look at tradition and go, is that still fit for purpose today? Is that still the right thing to do? Are we still doing and having the most impact we could be having?" he added. "So I like to question things, is what I'm really getting at."
Prince William and Kate Middleton Have Always Done Things Their Own Way
It's not too surprising to find out that Prince William wants to do things his own way when he becomes king — after all, he and Kate Middleton have always been all about breaking tradition to do what they feel suits them best, especially when it comes to their kids.
Their family life and the way that he and Kate have chosen to raise their three children is also something that William addressed in his talk with Levy.
"Everyone has their own coping mechanisms for these sorts of things, and children are constantly learning and adapting," he said. "We try to make sure we give them the security and the safety that they need."
He also talked about balancing his life as a working royal with his life as a dad to George, Charlotte, and Louis.
"Most days we're in and out of school doing pick-ups and drop-offs," he said. "Getting the balance of work and family life right is really important, because for me, the most important thing in my life is family, and everything is about the future and about if you don't start the children off now with a happy, healthy, stable home, I feel you're setting them up for a bit of a hard time and a fall."
