ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The past few days started off with a definite chill to the air, with temperatures in the 30s in many spots, but we’re headed back to summer. High pressure remains planted overhead, but slowly starts to slide east on Friday. This will allow temperature to rebound back into the upper 70s under a mostly sunny sky.
Where you’re heading to the Hilton Apple Festival, or going leaf peeping, the weekend looks spectacular! We’ll see more sunshine and dry weather both Saturday and Sunday, with highs near 80 on Saturday, and lower 80s on Sunday. We keep the summer-like warmth going into Monday, with high temperatures in the mid 80s. We could be flirting with record warmth on Monday, with the old record sitting at 87 degrees set back in 1900.
Our weather remains dry through Tuesday morning, with some showers finally returning Tuesday afternoon and night, tapering off on Wednesday. That is good news, since parts of the area are now in a “severe drought,” with the majority of our area in a “moderate drought.” So, the lovely weather we’ve been enjoying through late summer is taking a toll on our water resources.
