Conor McGregor claims his long-awaited UFC comeback fight is finally over the line.
‘Notorious’ hasn’t set foot inside the Octagon since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
However, it appears his lengthy hiatus will come to an end next June when the UFC hosts an unprecedented card at the White House to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States.
McGregor previously declared that the wheels were in motion for him to headline the card against fierce rival Michael Chandler.
And now, during an interview with Fox Sports, McGregor confirmed: “It’s a done deal, signed, delivered.
”End of negotiations. McGregor will compete in the White House for America’s 250th birthday.“
UFC president Dana White had previously earmarked McGregor as the early frontrunner to top the bill, but also repeatedly stated that he wouldn’t be putting together any White House fights until February.
Asked whether White approved, McGregor replied: “Me and Dana are in constant communications.
“We’ve done incredible business together. I’m the highest-generating fighter of all time in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
“They’ve just signed a breathtaking deal with Paramount where we’re going to cable TV.
“$7.7 billion that deal! I’m ready to rock, baby, bring in the big dog, the Mac!”
Conor McGregor says he will isolate himself ahead of his return
McGregor appears to be dead serious about launching a comeback, but is aware it will take significant personal sacrifices to whip himself back into fighting shape after five years on the sidelines.

“I consider it a six-month operation to get ready for this bout. That’s my focus right now.
“I’m just eager to climb the steps into being ready for my return. There’s a lot at stake, and I’m very excited at the opportunity.
“I was right there with my last one. I was in incredible condition. Incredibly well-prepared. Just a slight lapse in concentration led to an injury.
“I wish to correct that and show what I’m about. I’m eager to get back, and we’ll see what the future holds after that…
“There will be a period of isolation for sure, where the phone will not be answered.
