Strictly stars unite in support of scandal-hit Thomas Skinner as fans claim bosses ‘want him out first’

Fans are convinced the 34-year-old is being set up for a fall after his surprising song choice was revealed.

It follows a tough few weeks for The Apprentice star who suffered an “onslaught of hate” since signing up to the BBC show and confessing to an affair he had on his wife three years ago.

But insiders say scandal-hit Tom has felt unwavering support from co-stars throughout his ordeal – including professional dance partner Amy Dowden.

A source told The Sun: “Tom is just your average person who’s been flung into a frenzy of hate ever since signing up to Strictly.

“He’s rising above it all, but of course it would get anyone down.

“That’s why the support from his Strictly co-stars has meant so much to him.

“Tom has turned out to be one of the most popular members of the cast – and they’re all very protective of him.

“He’s now just focused on his training and soaking up every moment of this weird and wonderful experience.

“Him and Amy have been getting on so well. They haven’t stopped laughing.

“They can’t wait to show fans what they’ve put together for their dance this week. It’s going to be… bonkers.”

A Strictly source says: “It’s bonkers to suggest that dancing to a multi-platinum number one single is any sort of disadvantage.”

Tom is convinced the backlash against him stems from meeting the Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, after bonding over their political views online.

“I’ve had loads of death threats,” he said previously.

“People say I am this political figure that I’m actually not.

“The Left seems to be attacking me every day on social media. The Right seem to see me as a figurehead. It’s been a bit much for me.”

Now having heard Tom will be dancing the salsa to Dizzee Rascal’s 2009 hit Bonkers, fans fear Strictly bosses are giving him a latin dance to hinder his chances of going through to week three.

One said: “The song for Skinner… Oh, they want him out bad.”

Another added: “Oh Thomas is being set up for a fall.

“Two Latin dances back to back and Bonkers for a Salsa is a horrible song choice.”

Commenting on the abuse he’s suffered lately, Tom insisted: “I’ll keep dancing with my head held high.
