GREECE, N.Y. — A man, 20, is facing multiple charges after Greece Police say he nearly hit two officers with a stolen car on Monday.
He was arrested after a chase that crossed into the City of Rochester. News10NBC’s photojournalist saw multiple cruisers belonging to Greece, Rochester, and New York State police at the spot where the chase ended on Britton Road and Sterling Square.
It all started when officers responded to Forgham Road and Stonecliff Drive in Greece around 12:45 p.m. for reports of someone checking cars. Police say the suspect drove off in a car reported stolen.
Greece Police say they later found the car at Columbus Park, where it hit a portable restroom, a guardrail, and a patrol vehicle. Police say that’s where the suspect, Jamill Wallace, nearly hit two officers before speeding off again, leading to the chase.
Officers say Wallace tried to run away after the chase, but they managed to arrest him. He was taken to the Monroe County Jail pending his arraignment. Wallace is charged with:
Attempted aggravated assault on a police officer Reckless endangerment Grand larceny Criminal possession of stolen property Unauthorized use of a vehicle Unlawful fleeing a police officer Criminal mischief Reckless driving Resisting arrest Obstructing governmental administrationNo one was injured during the chase. According to police, the stolen car, a 2023 Honda Accord, had about $2,000 in damage and is now in the impound lot.
