A BRITISH luxury hotel is set to begin works as part of plans to host the Ryder Cup.
This year’s competition concluded on Sunday at Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York on Sunday with Europe retaining their title.
And the next edition will take place at Adare Manor in Limerick, Ireland in 2027, while the 2031 tournament will emanate from Camiral in Spain.
However, a British venue is now looking to host the 2035 Ryder Cup.
According to the BBC, The Arora Group – which owns the Luton Hoo Hotel – has been granted permission to build another golf course.
The hotel is also planning to upgrade spa facilities in its bid to one day host the Ryder Cup.
Arora have already submitted full plans and listed building consent to Central Bedfordshire Council for an extension to the spa.
The council’s development management committee unanimously approved the development.
It’s been reported that golf stars Gary Player and Justin Rose were helping to design the new course.
And there were hopes a Justin Rose academy would be set up.
It was announced back in 2023 that Luton Hoo would be undertaking years of redevelopment work so it could join the luxury brand of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
Other hotels in the Fairmont family include the likes of The Savoy in London.
The Fairmont in St Andrews, which is of course the “home of golf” in Scotland, is also included.
