Ohio State has opened up its 2027 recruiting class with the verbal commitment of Camren Turowski of Drop Aquatics.
I’m beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at The Ohio State University! I am very grateful for the endless support of my family, as well as my amazing coaches Jessica Stoddard and Drew Hansz, who have guided me every step of the way. Turowski nabbed a pair of titles at the Michigan High School Boy’s Division 1 State Championships in March. He brought home titles for Detroit Catholic Central High School as a sophomore in both the 50 freestyle (20.41) and 100 free (44.64). Both swims marked his fastest times ever in those events.
The following week, Turowski rewrote his personal best times at the MLA Ultra Championships. He marked new top times in the 200 free (1:41.79), 100 backstroke (51.05), 100 breaststroke (56.56), 200 breast (2:05.37), 100 butterfly (50.24), and 200 IM (1:52.93).
In more recent results, Turowski competed at the Speedo Sectionals in Columbus this summer (LCM). There he marked long course bests in the 50 free (23.88), 100 free (52.86), 50 back (27.29), 50 breast (29.83), and 100 breast (1:06.46).

Based on Turowski’s best times, he would have finished 39th in the 50 free, 23rd in the 100 breast, and 36th in the 100 free at that meet.
Those times would have ranked 10th in the 50 free, 10th in the 100 free, and 7th in the 100 breast on last season’s Ohio State squad.
Turowski is about as enticing of a prospect as one could ask for, he is very well rounded and still has two full seasons to develop prior to his collegiate debut. He is the swimming equivalent to a five tool player in baseball, with competitive times across the board.
Turowski is currently the lone publicized recruit in the Buckeyes’ class of 2031.
