Rory McIlroy vented his frustration at some rowdy Ryder Cup fans as he prepared to take a shot during a tense match.
The career grand slam winner has been in fine form at Bethpage Black so far, helping Europe into a commanding lead.
McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood have paired up for the opening two days and have gone on to win both of their foursomes matches.
On Saturday, the European pair overcame Harrish English and Collin Morikawa to claim their team’s first point of the day.
Another victory over the American pair on Saturday was crucial for McIlroy and Fleetwood, especially as they had to overcome some major distractions.
Team USA had been creeping back into the match, having fought back to half Europe’s lead to 2up from 4up.
English and Morikawa had won the 14th and 15th holes, with the former due to McIlroy’s poor putt.
And that error and momentum switch clearly played on McIlroy’s mind as he was hot-headed going into the 16th.
The fans in New York had been in fine voice on Saturday after a damaging Friday had impacted the atmosphere.
However, some behaviour in the crowd tipped McIlroy over the edge when preparing to hit a shot on the 16th.
As he set himself for an approach shot, fans were shouting and making a huge amount of noise behind him.
Of course, in golf, showing respect to the players when taking a shot is paramount, even in a tribal event like the Ryder Cup.
McIlroy turned round to snap back at the goading USA fans And he shouted back at them with an X-rated put downBut the fans alongside McIlroy didn’t respect that and it’s something that angered the reigning Masters champion.
He turned to the US supporters trying to distract him and shouted: “Guys, can you shut the f*** up!”
The fans booed in response, with some laughing too as McIlroy restarted his preparation.
The X-rated outburst forced Sky Sports to instantly jump in to apologise for the foul language used.
Fortunately for McIlroy, the distraction didn’t impact him, as his approach shot was perfect and within feet of the hole.
McIlroy and Fleetwood then went on to win the 16th hole and claim a second Ryder Cup match victory.

McIlroy’s X-rated outburst wasn’t the first time the 36-year-old has lost his cool with the fans at the Ryder Cup.
He had already been involved in two funny moments in New York over the first two days, blowing a kiss to USA supporters earlier on Saturday as they chanted ‘F*** off, Rory’ at him.
That followed him appearing to flip off some fans on the side of the course on the opening day at Bethpage Black.
His performances in the foursomes have helped Europe put themselves into a lead over the weekend.
McIlroy will now hope to finish the job in the singles on Sunday.
And he’ll have fingers crossed that there are fewer distractions…
