Erdoğan continued, “We saw again at the UN General Assembly that Israel is starting to become isolated because of its injustice and crimes against humanity.” He described his discussions with the US President at the White House as taking place in a “friendly, constructive, and fruitful atmosphere.”
The Turkish President stressed that his meeting with Trump was extremely important in demonstrating a desire to end the Israeli massacres in Gaza, noting that Trump expressed the necessity of achieving a lasting peace.
Erdoğan stated that he first explained to Trump the steps needed to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and across Palestine, followed by permanent peace, and indicated that they reached a consensus on this matter.
He reiterated, “We affirmed that the two-state solution is the formula for lasting peace, and that the current situation cannot continue. Trump is also aware of this.”
Erdoğan pointed out that the number of countries recognizing Palestine has exceeded 150 nations, and stressed the need for the international community to act decisively to ensure this is reflected on the ground. He also remarked that “the Palestinian cause is more recognized today than yesterday, and the cries of those with a living conscience are alarming Israel more than before.”
The Turkish President praised the warm reception he received from Trump and his team, calling his visit “wonderful.”
