Boris Becker has revealed Lamine Yamal reminds him of his teenage self.
However, the tennis legend added he has concerns whether the Barcelona youngster can avoid ‘obvious mistakes’.
Yamal has already won two league titles with the Spanish giants as well as Euro 2024.
The 18-year-old’s rise to the top of world football also saw the teenager finish second in the Ballon d’Or on Monday.
Although he missed out on the prize to Ousmane Dembele, he was named the Kopa Trophy winner for the second year in a row.
The award is presented to the best under-21 player in the world during the previous season.
His success so early in his career has drawn parallels to Becker, who won his first Grand Slam title aged just 17.
He remains the youngest ever winner of the Wimbledon men’s singles title; the German going on to win six Grand Slams as a player.
Asked if he has any advice for Yamal, Becker told talkSPORT Breakfast: “Well, it rings alarm bells for me. Yamal is wonderful, he’s winning everything, he’s the best young player in the world but obviously that reminds me of young Boris Becker at 17.
“So pick your friends, trust your family, build up a network of security that once you finish your football you’re not going to make the obvious mistakes.
“That’s (why) we have to watch this space and if I go back to your show in 10 or 15 years we might talk about Yamal again.”

His comments come just months after Yamal caused controversy with his 18th birthday party in July.
