Just a few days later, Dennis, 71, sat down with Piers Morgan and acknowledged that while Kimmel “was always a very kind guy,” his words could come with repercussions. “You have the right to free speech, and he certainly had the right to do that,” Dennis said. “I would definitely give him that. But there are consequences that come with it, and you have to accept those if you’re going to speak freely like that.”
He also accused Kimmel of misrepresenting Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old charged with the late political activist’s death, telling Morgan, “Jimmy goes on and he lies, basically, or tries to put it out that this guy is right wing.”
