Greeley city staff invite residents to discuss bus system rebranding

In preparation for a significant expansion, the city of Greeley’s mobility team invites residents to attend a focus group to rebrand the Greeley-Evans Transit system.

The focus group will meet at 12 p.m. Thursday in the Columbine Suite of the University of Northern Colorado’s University Center, 2101 10th Ave. Reservations are requested and can be submitted at bit.ly/4nhIiGQ.

The city plans to expand its transit system with new mobility hubs and routes to regional neighbors, including Windsor and Fort Collins, as well as a route that will accommodate the new Greeley-Weld County Airport next year. As such, the city will rebrand the transit system to reflect the new range it will have, since it will no longer service only Greeley and Evans.

“We really wanted to spend some time working with not only the city of Greeley and a lot of the residents that use it regularly, but also the surrounding communities that use it, and the surrounding communities that are asking for more routes from us,” Public Works Director Paul Trombino said. “We think it’s time to reshape that so that people understand how effective it can be for them in their daily lives. Whether it’s work or whether they’re anxious for better, easier travel to get across all parts of northern Colorado.”

The rebrand will go beyond a new name as riders can look forward to vibrant designs and improvements to route recognition, maps, bus stops and bus wraps. To aid in this effort, the city will partner with Studio Six, a creative agency specializing in transit branding, marketing and communications.

“With these enhancements, it’s the right time to refresh the look and feel of our transit system,” Transportation Planner Hanna Feldmann said. “We want the new brand to reflect community voices, make transit easier to navigate and build excitement for the future of mobility in Greeley.”
