A Ukiah woman convicted of embezzling more than $200,000 from her former employer has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison, the Mendocino County District Attorney’s Office reported. According to the office of DA David Eyster, Sonia L. Lau, 36, of Ukiah, was sentenced to 96 months, an amount described as the maximum allowed by law. The sentencing comes after Lau entered eight “no-contest” pleas for charges related to the more than $200,000 embezzled from her former employer, Ammo Plus, in what were described as “1,194 separate acts of theft.” The DA’s Office previously reported that Lau began embezzling in April 2014 and continued through April 2017, eventually stealing at least
