Bringing Up Batesstar Erin Bates is at home and recovering from her three-week hospital stay after giving birth to baby No. 7—and her husband, Chad Paine, shared a new health update.
On Monday, Sept. 22, the former UPtv stars published a video on their YouTube channel titled "Life up Erin's fight for healing."

"The last three weeks have just been a whirlwind of emotions and an experience that we, probably, never could have dreamed or thought up," Chad admitted in the video. "We have felt those prayers. And I know that's what's helped us get through this."

Chad explained that Erin's labor took much longer than any of her previous childbirth experiences. After she delivered their son, Henry, on Aug. 25, she experienced "complication after complication after complication," he explained.
Erin suffered a “severe UTI” and a kidney infection, resulting in septic shock, he previously shared on Instagram. Later, she suffered a "lengthy and severe seizure."
Chad added, "And then get close to discharge and then the seizure that she had, setting us back again, the infection—I'm getting it all mixed up—but it's just so many different things."

Although Erin was discharged from the hospital on Sept. 13, she continues to face complications.
"She cannot use her right leg, for some reason," Chad shared. "The doctors don't have an explanation. They don't have an answer. And they are only hopeful on recovery. They're positive toward it, but they still haven't really identified the problem. So it's been frustrating."

"But we're home. We're with the kids. They really missed us," Chad pointed out. "They were in wonderful hands. We felt the love of the church and our friends and our family closest to us."
In addition to their newborn son, Henry, Erin and Chad share four daughters, Brooklyn, 8, Everly, 7, Holland, 5, and Finley, 3, and two sons, Charles Steven IV, 10, and William, 20 months.
Again, Chad reiterated, "We just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Please don't stop praying."
During Erin's hospitalization, her sister, Carlin Bates, gave birth to her third child, a baby girl named Navy. Her experience, however, was seemingly uncomplicated. Carlin was in and out of the hospital within days, compared to her sister's life-threatening childbirth.
Hopefully, doctors will find answers to Erin's ongoing health concerns, and Chad will keep followers updated on her journey as fans continue sending their prayers.
