Lehigh, Williams, Myles, Lastovka, Atkinson Earn FCS Football Awards (Week 4)

Opta Analyst’s FCS football coverage includes weekly national player and team honors throughout the regular season and will lead toward the annual season-ending Stats Perform FCS National Awards Show on Jan. 3, 2026 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Southern Illinois’ DJ Williams, Abilene Christian’s Rashon Myles Jr., Youngstown State’s Andrew Lastovka and Mercer’s Braden Atkinson were selected on Monday as the Stats Perform FCS National Players of the Week for Week 4 college football games this past weekend.

In addition, the Lehigh Mountain Hawks were named the Stats Perform FCS National Team of the Week.

The weekly honors lead up to the Stats Perform FCS National Awards Show on Jan. 3 in Nashville, Tennessee. The season-ending awards are in their 39th year.

The five honorees plus honorable mention selections for the FCS National Awards:

FCS National Offensive Player of the Week

DJ Williams, Southern Illinois, QB, Sr., 6-3, 218

With Williams accounting for 493 yards and six touchdowns, SIU posted a 59-31 road win over Southeast Missouri for the highest point total in the rivalry’s 93-game history. The veteran signal-caller set career highs for total TDs (four passing, two rushing), passing yards (342), passer rating (239.7) and rushing yards (151), with his 75-yard scoring run on the game’s first play from scrimmage also the longest of his career.

Honorable Mention: Adam Criter, RB, San Diego; Taron Dickens, QB, Samford; Stone Earle, QB, Abilene Christian; Randall King, WR, Campbell; Peyton Kramer, WR, Tarleton State

FCS National Defensive Player of the Week

Rashon Myles Jr., Abilene Christian, LB, R-Jr., 6-1, 220

Myles recovered three fumbles in the first half and two were turned into touchdowns as Abilene Christian beat Austin Peay 45-31 in a Top 25 matchup from the United Athletic Conference. The Wildcats’ 2025 breakout player was in on six tackles (only one of the plays went for more than five yards) and had one pass breakup. He has 34 stops through four games after entering the season with just six in 18 college games.

Honorable Mention: Rodney Dansby, LB, HCU; Tommy Dunn, LB, Brown; Christopher Jean, CB, Central Connecticut State; Mickey Munn, DB, South Dakota; Jacob Psyk, DL, UC Davis; Jermaine Ray Jr., DB, North Alabama; Marco Scarano, LB, Princeton

FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week

Andrew Lastovka, Youngstown State, PK, Jr., 5-8, 170

Lastovka was clutch once again while lifting Youngstown State past Towson 31-28. He tied the game at 28 with a 48-yard field goal with 1:37 left, then, after the Penguins got the ball back, drilled a 42-yarder as time expired – his second career walk-off field goal. He also kicked a 27-yard field goal in the third quarter and made his two extra-point attempts for 11 points. Lastovka is the Penguins’ third different national player of the week this season (Beau Brungard, offense, and Dathan Hickey, defense).

Honorable Mention: Noah Cronquist, WR/Return, Eastern Washington; Heath Jehu, P, Chattanooga; Bryce LaFollette, P, Towson; Julien Stokes, RB/Return, Penn; Keylijah Williams, KR, Bryant

FCS National Freshman Player of the Week

Braden Atkinson, Mercer, QB, Fr., 6-1, 215

Atkinson, a true freshman, completed 29 of 35 pass attempts for 304 yards, four touchdowns and a 193.8 passer rating as Mercer beat The Citadel 38-0 on the road in the Southern Conference. His 82.9 completion percentage was the second-highest in a Mercer game since the school returned to football in 2013. He’s surpassed 300 passing yards in each of his two starts, and the four scoring passes were the most by a Bears signal-caller since 2022.

Honorable Mention: Chase Binghom, RB, Prairie View A&M; Rico Bond, QB, Lindenwood; Davis Harsin, QB, Idaho State; Abram Johnston, QB, Northwestern State; Alim Parks Jr., DB, Wagner; Gabe Passini, QB, Butler; Owen Sweeney, WR, VMI; Mason Walters, PK, Penn

FCS National Team of the Week

    Lehigh (41-24 win at Bucknell)

Lehigh avenged last year’s lone Patriot League loss while improving to 4-0 for the first time since 2013. Standout running backs Luke Yoder (174 yards, touchdown) and Jaden Green (127 yards, two TDs) surpassed the century mark together for the first time as coach Kevin Cahill’s Mountain Hawks gained their highest rushing yardage (323) since 2016. The defense collected six sacks, including Dillon Sheehan with 2.5. Interestingly, the road team has won six straight times in the series.

Honorable Mention: Brown (46-0 win over Georgetown); Monmouth (51-33 win over then-No. 11 Villanova); San Diego (42-35 win at Princeton); Southern Illinois (59-31 win at Southeast Missouri)
