Kazushi Kimura, Edgar Payeras and Kyle Frey tied for the jockey title with six wins each and Doug O’Neill led the trainer standings with six as Los Alamitos completed a two-week thoroughbred meet Sunday.
O’Neill has won or shared titles at Los Alamitos 11 times since the Orange County track began running three short daytime thoroughbred seasons a year in 2014.
Kimura, Payeras and Frey each have won or shared titles twice at Los Al daytime meets.
Next on California’s thoroughbred racing schedule is Santa Anita’s fall meet, Friday, Sept. 26, to Sunday, Oct. 26.
