Ed Denney, age 87 of Lebanon TN, passed away on September 17, 2025. The Funeral Service is 11 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2025 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Interment in Smith County Memorial with grandchildren serving as Pallbearers. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m.
Dorris Edward “Ed” Denney was born in Lebanon TN to Alta Marie Baker Denney and Dorris Anderson Denney. He graduated from Smith County High School, Class of 1956. Ed worked in law enforcement for 46 years. He enjoyed farming, horses, and cattle. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Ed is survived by children Mike (Venessa) Denney, Ricky (Connie) Denney, and Vicki (Tim) Barfield, 8 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and siblings Helen Bates and Cornel (Marla) Denney. He is preceded in death by his parents Marie and Dorris Denney, brother Walter Denney and sister Glenda Winfree.
