Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. were busy this week celebrating their kids’ major milestone teen birthdays.
The ‘90s couple first celebrated their daughter Charlotte’s 16th birthday on Friday, September 19. Sarah, 48, shared photos with her eldest child via Instagram, including one from their first mommy-daughter photoshoot together, to revealing the pricey gift Charlotte received on her birthday.
“16 years ago today, you made me a mom. I believe the quote is … a daughter is just a little girl who grows up to be your best friend,” Sarah captions the post. “Charlotte, you are that and so much more. You are strong, you are inspiring, you are kind, you are funny (almost as funny as me) and most importantly you are one of a kind, the best kind. I'm so lucky to call you my best friend. And I’m equally excited to finally be your passenger PRINZEss.”
In the driveway of their home was parked Jeep Wrangler Rubicon decorated with a big, red bow. With all the bells and whistles, the car costs around $100,000.
The following day, Sarah and Freddie, 49, who wed in 2002, had another birthday to celebrate – their son Rocky’s 13th birthday. Although the baby of the family is three years away from obtaining his driver’s licence, he has a need for speed and showed off his skills at an indoor Go Kart racing track.

“And then three years later you sped into our lives Rocky. I should have known by the way you raced into this world, what your future would hold,” the family matriarch wrote via Instagram on Saturday, September 20. “Aside from being one of the fastest in the state, you are one of the most polite, kind and funny kids I know. I can’t believe you are a teenager. I love you more than my words can express!!!”
