Cristiano Ronaldo had a strong response to critics of Al Nassr team-mate Joao Felix on social media.
The Portugal captain did not hold back after Felix was targeted by a podcast host in a viral clip.
It follows the 25-year-old’s move to the Saudi Pro League from Chelsea in the summer.
Felix completed a £45million switch to Al Nassr, signing a two-year deal with the club.
However, the latest episode of Portuguese podcast Chuveirinho saw one host question his decision to leave European football at such a young age.
The segment has since been shared to Instagram by the podcast’s official account.
It was on the platform where Ronaldo took to the comments to hit back in defence of his club and international team-mate.
Underneath the clip, he wrote: “Idiots don’t understand anything about football, yet they still give their opinions.”
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also included three crying laughing emojis alongside his message.
Ronaldo’s comment has since been removed.
His response comes ahead of Al Nassr’s home clash with Al Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday.
Felix will be hoping to continue his impressive start to life in the Middle East.

Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in January 2023 following his exit from Manchester United.

“And I’m working on myself, working for the team. Because if the team does well, I do well too.
“We have great talents in attack who can score goals at any time. So, if we defend well, we can win almost every game.”
