The Hell's Kitchen host tells Parade that he opts for recipes that are "quick and easy" for the kids.
"If we're making it, we'll pre-blanch thick spaghetti," Ramsay said. "Tagliatelle takes 90 seconds, but spaghetti can take up to 12 minutes."
Blanching is a cooking method which refers to food being immersed in boiling water, then immediately cooled in ice water. This technique is ideal for food preparation because it halts the cooking process while preserving the food at its highest point of flavor, texture, and color. Blanching is often done with green beans, peaches, broccoli, and more common fruits and vegetables. As for the pasta, Ramsay will cook it as directed using the blanching method, and then store it in the fridge.

"It's drained and then run through a little touch of olive oil. And then loosen it up." Ramsay explained. "Then the pickup time is like 90 seconds, two minutes, especially that nice big thick spaghetti."
Once you're ready to consume the pasta, you just take it out of the refrigerator, sear or heat the noodles up on a pan or in a microwave, and then you're good to go. Some examples of the thick spaghetti Ramsay is referring to may include bucatini, spaghettoni, bigoli, tonnarelli, and pici.
How Long Can Pre-Made Pasta Be Kept in the Refrigerator?
Ramsay keeps pre-cooked pasta in the refrigerator for up to one week. According to the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, leftovers can be stored in the fridge for three to four days or frozen for three to four months. Ideally though, you should avoid the freezer to preserve optimal flavor.
The biggest benefit from pre-made pasta, aside from it being a giant time-saver, is that the food is virtually a blank slate. Have extra vegetables, sauces, or proteins lying around? Add them into the already-made spaghetti by searing the ingredients together in a pan on a low heat. This creates a well-rounded meal for several people within minutes.
Now you can tell your family and friends that you're time-saving cooking hack is Gordon Ramsay-approved.
