IPL chairman Arun Dhumal has shared his views on the handshake controversy from the Asia Cup 2025 clash between India and Pakistan.
The incident has spiraled into a major controversy with Pakistan even threatening to pull out of the competition.
The Indian team refrained from any customary handshake throughout the match. Captain Suryakumar Yadav did not shake hands with his Pakistani counterpart at the toss. After hitting the winning runs, Suryakumar and his batting partner Shivam Dube walked straight back to the dressing room.
While the Pakistan players appeared to walk towards the Indian dugout, the Indian players and the coaches decided to leave the field without shaking hands. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha subsequently decided against appearing at the post-match presentation ceremony, although head coach Mike Hesson attended the press conference.

Arun Dhumal on PCB's complaint against Andy Pycroft:
After the incident, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) lodged a complaint against match referee Andy Pycroft, accusing him of violating the code of conduct. The PCB also threatened to pull out of the tournament if Pycroft was not removed. However, the ICC has turned down PCB's request, and the board will take a final call on the continuation in the tournament on Wednesday.
Amidst the ongoing controversy, Arun Dhumal has said that the ICC will review PCB's complaint and will take appropriate action if any misconduct is found. He also clarified the Indian government's stance on the India-Pakistan ties.
The ICC will review any issue - Arun Dhumal
"The ICC will review any issues raised by Pakistan regarding the recent match, and if any official misconduct is found, appropriate action will be taken," Arun Dhumal told reporters.
"The Indian government has decided that while bilateral matches between India and Pakistan will not be played, Indian teams will participate in multilateral and international tournaments. If Pakistan's team needs to travel to India for such tournaments, the Indian government will issue visas," Dhumal added.
Meanwhile, India have booked their spot in the Super 4s of the Asia Cup 2025 by winning their first two games. They started their campaign with a 9-wicket win over the UAE before thrashing Pakistan by 7 wickets. India's final group game is against Oman.
