DENVER (KDVR) — A Denver brewery that's been open for 10 years announced on Saturday that it's deciding to close for good at the end of the year.
Tucked away on Tennyson Street in the Berkeley neighborhood, Call to Arms Brewing Company is a local favorite, with beer drinkers heading to the taproom for anything from a late-night beer shot to a wedding party.
The independent brewery was first opened by three guys who met while brewing, cellaring and packaging beer at Avery Brewing Company in Boulder. They decided to bring their own brewery to Denver, and Call to Arms was born.

Aside from the light-hearted announcement, Owner Chris Bell said in a video on social media that it wasn't just one reason they're closing. Bell said it's been a "challenge," with alternative beverages on the market, people generally drinking less and rising costs.
People flooded the comment section on the brewery's Instagram, reminiscing on memories like dance parties and one person meeting their wife there.
"Nooooooooooo! I’m so sad! CTA will forever be one of my favorite spots for amazing beer with good people. Thanks for giving us so many years of great memories," one person commented.
The brewery said events will go on as scheduled, and they want to end "with a bang," with lots of farewell parties.
