For the second time in two weeks, a player on the University of Northern Colorado football defense earned a Big Sky Conference weekly honor.
Hudson Voggesser, a linebacker from Loveland High School, was named the Big Sky Conference defensive player of the week Monday.
Voggesser had career-best 16 tackles on the road at nationally ranked South Dakota on Saturday, which was also a game high. Voggesser had seven solo tackles against the Coyotes and he added a one-half tackle for a loss of yards and a quarterback hurry.
Voggesser is a redshirt freshman after transferring from New Mexico State.
South Dakota won 24-17 in overtime. The Coyotes, who reached the FCS semifinals in December, came into the game ranked 12th and 20th in FCS polls. USD is 15th in a STATS Perform Top 25 poll released Monday and 21st in a coaches poll.
UNC defensive lineman Ezra Ekuban shared the Big Sky defensive player of the week award last week.
