Move over Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, it's the Skate girlies' time to shine as Skate 4 is set to release into early access imminently!
15 whole years on from the release of the iconic and janky Skate 3, the series is back with a new instalment, or skate., as it's been simply dubbed.
Bringing the masses back to the game, and introducing a whole new world to skate known as San Vansterdam, developer Full Studio (set up by the original Skate developers no less) has been hard at work replicating that Skate magic.
So, with a series of playtests having now concluded, when is the Skate 4 release date and what time will it launch?
When is the Skate 4 release date?
Skate 4 releases into early access on 16th September 2025.
As for a full release, we're still none the wiser, as EA is yet to confirm an official date, nor really give us much indication of how long early access could last.
On the game's Steam page, the developers write the following:
"We don't have a fixed timeline to officially exit Early Access, as the game will evolve, grow and improve based on player feedback. However, we expect to move towards a 'full' release approximately a year out from the start of Early Access but we don't know for certain at this time."
Whether that means a full release in a year's time, or having an idea of when the full release will be in a year's time, we'll just have to wait and see!
Playtesting for the game has been routinely taking place all throughout 2025, and with players already loving their time in San Vansterdam, we're excited to see how the game progresses in early access.

Not only have pre-orders not begun for Skate 4, but they never will!
EA has confirmed that Skate 4 will be completely free, both from the start of early access and when the game fully releases.
What platforms can you get Skate 4 on?
Skate 4 will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, EA has confirmed. Work is also under way on a mobile version, too, but there's no word yet on a Nintendo Switch release.

As it shows, the game looks colourful and chaotic, as well as being a whole lot of fun. It is, of course, a freewheeling skateboarding game that will take a fair amount of practice to master!
