Mert Okatan is returning to the Love Island franchise with Love Island Games is about to begin, now the footballer is explaining his intentions going into the villa.

Mert isn’t worried about the language barrier causing an issue for him and his potential love interest. “I love American woman. If I love a girl, you don’t need language you know. Look each other in the eyes and then it just happens you know what I mean?”
The former Love Island winner explains his strength going into the games, sharing, “I’m very competitive person. I hate to lose.”
He explains that his “Speed” is an 8 out of 10, whereas he believes his strength “10/10.” The footballer explains that “I actually go 4 or 5 times a week to the gym. After that I eat my eggs. I never skip leg day.”
His plan going into the game is straight forward, “I’m a born winner you know. I hate to lose, so I’m here to not lose to win the game.”

Mert competed on Love Island Netherlands & Belgium season 2 in 2020, where he and his partner Joan Pronk won the series, beating out 29 other islanders. The series ran from August 31, 2020 – October 11, 2020.
Mert and Joan broke up in 2021. Mert then reappeared in season 3 of the franchise where he came in third.
