Coldplay frontman Chris Martin used the band’s Wembley Stadium stage to send a message following the shocking death of political activist Charlie Kirk.
During the band’s performance in London on Friday, September 12, Martin paused the show to encourage the crowd to join him in an act of collective compassion. “Let’s raise our hands like this and send love, anywhere you want to send it in the world,” he told the audience, lifting his arms and wiggling his fingers as thousands followed.
“You can send this to your brother or your sister, you can send it to the families of people who have been going through terrible stuff, you can send it to Charlie Kirk’s family,” Martin said. He then urged fans to go further: “You can send it to people you disagree with, but you send them love anyway. You can send it to peaceful people in the Middle East, in Ukraine and Russia.”
